Question by zdmatty: How much execise for a 5 month husky?
I have a 5 month husky, I noticed playing ball wasn’t getting it’s energy out so I started going for walks, 45 mins in the morning and 45 to and hour at night. It doesn’t seem to help with her pent up energy. I know you can’t do to much with puppies buy should I raise the time because she seems to need more?

Don’t add anymore walks or walking time, because walking too much on asphalt before 6 months of age can effect bone growth. If she still needs more exercise, I suggest playing fetch with her in the backyard for 30-45 minutes. When she gets older, you could even start using the treadmill if she still has excess energy. She might want to go on runs instead of walks, because that is what huskies were bred to do.

I bought a watch pedometer/heart rate monitor with calories burned..however, I can’t figure out how to get calories burned doing anything other than walking (pedometer) Any insights? I’d like to wear it when I do exercise videos and to see what I’ve burned.

Without knowing what brand you have its hard to say, but check the instruction manual and there should be something in there that tells you. It should be able to calculate the calories that you are burning in general, so if you double check you should find the settings.

Diet wise, you know, no junk. no processed food.

* Instead of having 3 large meals in a day, have 5-6 small meals. Make sure to keep a gap of 2-3 hours between two consecutive meals. It will help speed up your metabolism and result in burning of more calories. Have protein, carbs & fat in a 40/40/20 percentage.
* Drink at least 8 glasses of water in a day. The more you increase your water consumption, the better it is.
* Never ever skip meals or eat too less in order to lose weight. It will only make your metabolism slower, resulting in an even slower burning of calories.

Now I know you want a quick fix, too, and a pill that helps burn fat. Try Hydroxycut. Worked for me, but it’s not cheap & can wreak havoc with your system.

That said, there’s a cardio training regimen called High-intensity interval training (HIIT). You sprint & walk. Can take only 15/20 minutes a day, 3/4 times a week. It is the current best way to raise your metabolism & burn fat. Here’s a site that describes it in detail.

ive recently gotten sober and i was pretty skinny and ive gained alot of weight really fast. Im still in treatment and every meal is very heavy. All there really is to do is eat and smoke. I know exercise will work but we are limited to that. Are there vitamins or teas or something that can help? diets?
